Youth Art Month March has been designated Youth Art Month by the Chamber and supported by  a proclamation from County Executive Robert Bondi, declaring March as Youth Art Month in Putnam County. Youth Art Month was established to encourage our students to develop their creativity, of which they can be proud, and participate in a program which will showcase their talents. The committee works with the art teachers in the Mahopac School District to encourage students to submit their best art work to be judged and exhibited throughout the Town of Mahopac. The exhibit enables the community to recognize the students' abilities, which are developed through the art programs in our local schools. At a special awards ceremony, held the end of March, the artists receive their awards. The top three students in each category receive ribbons as well as a cash award. All other students who have submitted art work rerceive an honorable mention ribbon. The awards ceremony is open to all the artists  and their families as well as the public. We have been honored to have County Executive Bondi, County Legislators and Council Members attend. . |
