Mahopac-Carmel Chamber Scholarships

Scholarships

The Chamber of Commerce willingly offers its scholarships to promote further education of Mahopac and Carmel High School graduates.

The scholarships are awarded to seniors of good standing and abilities in all areas; not necessarily an outstanding academic achiever, but a well rounded individual. The students, who on their own abilities, must meet the requirements and guidelines set forth by the Scholarship Committee. We seek students who would proudly accept and greatly appreciate the scholarship money.

The Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with member businesses, awarded over $12,000.00 in scholarships to 13 Mahopac High School Seniors:

The scholarship recipients were guest of the Chamber at their May dinner meeting at the Centennial Golf Club and were honored for their academic achievements and community service.  Seniors were nominated for the scholarships by Chamber members and were selected by the Chamber’s Scholarship Committee.

The Chamber congratulates our scholarship recipients and all the Graduates of the Class of 2004.

In February, an application goes out in the newsletter and members are asked to nominate students graduating from Mahopac High School, who will be furthering their education.

In March, the Chamber sends a letter to each student who has been nominated, informing them of their nomination and explaining the requirements for the Scholarship.

In April, by the deadline date at the end of April, all paperwork must have been received. The papers submitted by the students are copied by the Chamber Office, the names are removed from copies and then forwarded to the Committee. The Committee meets to read the materials submitted and choose the winners for the Scholarship Awards.

In May, the winners are notified and invited to attend the Awards Night Ceremony at Mahopac High School. They will be awarded their scholarship letter and will be invited to attend the May Chamber Dinner Meeting as our guest, where they will receive their scholarship money.

The Chamber's Scholarship Award is highly regarded ty the Mahopac Central School District for its recognition of students.
